On August 24, Yershov and two activists were reported for individual pickets. The journalist came out with a poster «I need freedom of speech, not torture and dictatorship». He was charged with holding an action without filing a notification (Part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation). In November 2021, the Dzerzhinsky District Court of St. Petersburg dismissed the case.
