The Tambov Region Department of Internal Affairs has filed a lawsuit against the participants of the January and April rallies in support of Alexey Navalny. The police demanded RUB 473,000 from the activists for spending on petrol for their official cars on those days. Journalist Sergey Stepanov became one of the 13 defendants in the lawsuit filed by the regional Department of Internal Affairs. Stepanov was previously fined RUB 30,000 for violating the mask regime at a rally in support of Alexey Navalny on April 21. He also spent 30 days in a special detention centre for participation in this action. The case is in the process of consideration by the court.
