Petru Macovei, executive director of the Association of Independent Press (API), was accused in a Facebook live broadcast by Mihail Vlah, councillor to the Governor of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia. In the Facebook broadcase, Vlah said that Petru Macovei "tries to brainwash and re-educate the Gagauz people". Also, in the post accompanying the video recording, Vlah said: "I think the time is coming when we must punch him into the face".
