The journalist was summoned for interrogation by the Investigative Committee because he had viewed clips published on VKontakte by Vsevolod Moguchev, an associate of former archpriest Sergiy (Nikolay Romanov). Romanov was sentenced to 3.5 years in a penal colony on charges of inducing suicide, violating the right to freedom of conscience, and unsanctioned actions. In addition, Romanov and Moguchev are on trial for extremism as part of an organised group. Pivovarov was interrogated on December 24.
