A criminal case was opened against journalist Andrey Serafimov under the article on calls for activities against the security of the state (Paragraph C of Part 2 of Article 280.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The reason for the case is unknown. The journalist himself assumes that the reason was his calls not to take summonses and not to go to military enlistment centres, published in social networks. The journalist said that law enforcers came to his relatives twice: first under the guise of a survey, and later they were summoned for questioning. Also law enforcement officers visited the university where Serafimov is listed. He is outside Russia.
