Following a denunciation by State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov, Roskomnadzor drew up a report on Radio Svoboda for public dissemination of knowingly false information about veterans of the Great Patriotic War (Part 4.1 of Article 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation). The reason was the publication of historian Boris Sokolov on the order of Georgy Zhukov to repress the families of Soviet prisoners of war. On January 28, 2022, the Simonovsky District Court of Moscow fined Radio Svoboda RUB 3 million for spreading knowingly false information about veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
