Yelena Semenova, who deals with the rights of prisoners, was brought to court as a defendant in a lawsuit to protect the business reputation of the administration of the colony AK-159/6. The reason for the proceedings was a post about the beating of two convicts in the colony, published by the human rights defender. On May 12, the court partially satisfied the suit, recognising the information as not corresponding to reality and defaming the business reputation of the plaintiff. The court obliged Yelena Semenova to refute the information within 10 days from the day the decision came into force.
