The journalists of kloop.kg tried to get accreditation for covering the upcoming People’s Kurultai, an annual public and representative assembly with the participation of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and delegates of local communities from different regions of Kyrgyzstan. Presidential spokesman Askat Alagozov explained that the refusal was due to the decision of the Ministry of Culture to block the media outlet’s website and the lawsuits. Kloop.media websites in Kyrgyz and Russian languages are blocked in Kyrgyzstan. The reason for blocking was the material with the headline «Politician Ravshan Dzheyenbekov said that he was tortured in detention centre». In August this year, the State Committee for National Security filed a complaint with the Ministry of Culture, saying the material «does not correspond to reality and defames the reputation of the SCNS». In addition, the legal proceedings to close the legal entity Kloop.media are underway.
