Roskomnadzor initiated an administrative case against the Bellingcat Foundation (Stichting Bellingcat) due to the lack of «foreign agent» marking. On March 3, 2022, the Tagansky District Court of Moscow fined Bellingcat RUB 500,000 for the absence of «foreign agent» marking in the materials on the website. The court found that the media outlet had committed an administrative offence under Part 1 of Article 19.34.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation (violation of the procedure for the activities of a foreign mass media outlet performing the functions of a foreign agent).
