On January 7, political activist Giyas Ibrahimli tried to commit self-immolation in front of the building of the Presidential Administration. He objected to the non-enforcement of the European Court judgement against him and the non-payment of the compensation awarded to him. Journalists reporting from the action were physically pressurised by police and security guards of the administration. The camera and phone of the independent journalist Amina Mammadova were confiscated and the recordings made were also deleted.
