The Sovetsky District Court of Ulan-Ude sentenced in absentia journalist and founder of the Free Buryatia Foundation Alexandra Garmazhapova to seven years in prison on the case of «military fakes» (Paragraph E of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The reason for the criminal case was an interview released in July 2022, in which Garmazhapova told the Ukrainian project Hroshi about 17 Buryat servicemen «refuseniks» in the Lugansk region. The journalist, who left Russia, was put on a wanted list.
