Additional information:

The Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg has chosen a preventive measure in the form of remand in custody for local historian and journalist Dmitry Vitushkin. He is accused of rehabilitating Nazism on the Internet (Paragraph C of Part 2 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and of desecrating symbols of Russia’s military glory online (Part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The reason for the prosecution were the comments to a post in the VKontakte group Ingermanlandia about the Finnish sniper Simo Häyhä, posted in December 2022. The comments referred to the role of the USSR in unleashing World War II.
