The court fined Vasil Pashalyuk, a photographer who takes photos and videos with the help of a quadcopter, 10 basic amounts (USD 112). As it turned out, the Brest Region prosecutor’s office initiated an administrative case against him under Part 2 of Article 18.35 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus (violation of the rules of airspace use). The reason was that Pashalyuk had posted on his YouTube channel several videos from Brest, which he had made by order for a state organisation. However, the prosecutor’s office said that the drone filming was done without prior authorisation.
