A criminal case was opened against Faizrakhmanova for public justification of terrorism (Part 1 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Searches were carried out in her apartment in Kazan and at her parents’. The journalist herself is outside Russia. The reason for the criminal case was Faizrakhmanova’s speech at the Brussels Forum of Free Nations of Post-Russia in January 2023.
