The newspaper's editor-in-chief complained about pressure on the publication from the city council, as well as the newly elected mayor. Immediately after the election of the new mayor, the editorial office began receive messages from mayor's office, requesting that they place positive messages about the mayor on the front page of the newspaper. The journalists refused. After this, according to Bogdan Panas, he was summoned to the mayor’s office, after which the city council informed the editorial office of its intention to terminate the lease agreement for the premises with the newspaper.
