On September 26, the Shaykhantakhur District Criminal Court of Tashkent passed a verdict in the case of Telegram channel Kompromatuzb. Khurshid Daliyev was found not guilty on separate episodes of the case under Part 2 of Article 139 (libel) and Paragraph A of Part 3 of Article 165 (extortion on a particularly large scale) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan and was rehabilitated acquitted under these articles. At the same time, he was found guilty under the same articles, as well as under Part 3 of Article 184 (evasion of taxes or fees on an especially large scale) and Article 243 (legalisation of income from criminal activity). He was sentenced to a fine of 300 basic amounts (UZS 99 million) and 7 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony with deprivation of the right to work in the media and engage in journalism and blogging for 3 years.
