The Grodno prosecutor's office issued an official warning to Andrzej Pisalnik, the editor of ZnadNiemna.pl (the unapproved website for the Union of Poles). The journalist was charged as a result of comments made to the Polish media, that the Belarusian state media was waging a large-scale propaganda attack against Poland and the Poles. He also compared the persecution of Polish activists in Belarus with the persecution of Poles during the Stalin era. The prosecutor's office stated that the purpose of such statements was “to incite national hatred and discord among the population, to create hostility and distrust of government officials, and to spread false information about their activities.” The Pisalnik prosecutor's office warned that any similar statements would be prosecuted.
